The Nogales Santa Cruz Friends of the Library is a non-profit 501c3 organization that has served the Nogales Santa Cruz Public Library system since 2005. Their goal is to support the library Director and staff in serving all of Santa Cruz County in creating independent readers and researchers. In 2023 the Library celebrated 100 years of service. The Library serves Santa Cruz County in Nogales, Sonoita, Tubac and Rio Rico. a community of nearly 50,000 residents with Internet computer access, 75,000 volumes, and dozens of newspapers and magazines. There is a weekly Storytime, homework help, special after-school programs for young people, including teens. Friends of the Library provided the additional support needed for the Centennial Open House attended by local authors, dignitaries, young people and community members. Friends of the Library support the goals of the library with additional funding that isn't provided by the City and/or County budgets.
